Welcome to the Situk River Fly Shop info web site. This site is a work in progress (just as the fly shop itself is a work in progress...), so please check back throughout the year for the latest news on what is happening in Yakutat.
Yakutat, Alaska is home to some of the best fishing in the world. OK, everyone makes that claim, but this really is an amazing place. Home to all five species of Pacific Salmon, Dolly Varden Char, Sea-run Cutthroat, Resident Rainbow and the largest wild steelhead run in all of Alaska, the rivers along this stretch of Alaska's coast are amazing. Add in some remote lakes that hold a unique species of pike and incredible saltwater fishing---Yakutat is where you need to take your next trip!
Wild salmon need plenty of cool, clean water to thrive and Yakutat gets some of the highest amounts of habitat in the world falling from the sky. We carry Simms waders and jackets, Under Armour layering, as well as our own lines of clothing to help keep you dry and warm for your Alaskan adventure. But... as a destination shop, we don't jack up the price because you have no other options... Good products at good prices with good service. As long as you don't mind putting up with my kids and my dog when you are here... it's a family business. Come join our family and come fish these amazing rivers!
